Financial Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome
ORLANDO, Fla., February 24, 2025 —The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new financial assistance program for people living with familial chylomicronemia syndrome. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical costs for treatment, such as copays, health insurance premiums, and incidental medical expenses.
Familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS) is a rare genetic disease of the pancreas.¹ People living with FCS must adhere to a non-fat diet to avoid terrible abdominal pain. The strict diet and treatment regimen can lead patients to experience stress, anxiety, memory loss, and a reduced quality of life.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we’re now able to help people living with familial chylomicronemia syndrome access the treatment they need to live healthier, fuller lives,” said Danielle Vizcaino, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. “Our Familial Chylomicronemia Syndrome Financial Assistance Program will improve patients’ quality of life, removing financial barriers and empowering them to focus on their health and wellbeing.”
